Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 3, 2026

This is the privacy policy for mademyseoul.com. I tried to write it in plain English instead of legalese, because if you’re reading a privacy policy you deserve to actually understand it.

Short version: I collect almost nothing personal. I use standard tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) to understand what posts people read. Some links earn me a small commission. That’s basically it.

Who runs this site

This blog is run by Haeyoon, an individual based in Seoul, South Korea. There’s no company behind it — just one person.

What information I collect

Information you give me directly

If you email me, I’ll have your email address and whatever you wrote. I don’t add you to any list or share it with anyone — I just reply.

The site currently has no comment section, account system, or newsletter signup, so there’s nothing else for you to actively share.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, the following data is collected through standard analytics tools:

  • Pages you viewed and how long you stayed
  • Approximate location (country or city level, derived from your IP address)
  • Device and browser type
  • How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, social media, etc.)
  • Anonymous interaction data (clicks, scroll depth, mouse movement)

None of this is tied to your name or personal identity.

Cookies and tracking

This site uses cookies for these purposes:

  • Functional — WordPress uses cookies to make the site work properly
  • Analytics — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity use cookies to understand traffic patterns
  • Performance — Cloudflare (the CDN serving this site) uses cookies for security and performance
  • Advertising — Google AdSense may serve ads on this site and use cookies to make them more relevant. (This may or may not be active depending on when you’re reading this.)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work properly without them.

Third-party services

This site uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

Affiliate links and earnings disclosure

Many posts on this site include affiliate links — typically to K-beauty products on retailers like YesStyle, Amazon, and similar platforms.

If you click an affiliate link and end up buying something, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The price you pay is the same whether you use my link or not.

What this doesn’t change: I only recommend products I’ve actually used and would recommend to a friend. The commission system gives me a tiny incentive to recommend things you’ll buy, but a much bigger incentive to be trustworthy enough that you keep coming back.

Where applicable, individual posts will also include a brief affiliate disclosure note.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data — including the right to access, correct, or delete data held about you.

Since the only personal data I directly hold is whatever you’ve sent me by email, you can email me anytime to ask me to delete past correspondence. For data held by third parties (Google, Microsoft, Cloudflare), please contact them directly using their privacy policies linked above.

Children

This site isn’t intended for children under 13. I don’t knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Significant updates will be noted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
