Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner is one of those Korean toners I feel like I’ve seen everywhere for years. I knew it was famous for being gentle, but I only picked it up recently because I wanted something calmer in my routine.

Why I Wanted Something Gentler
Before this, I had been using the SOME BY MI Miracle Toner. I liked it for texture care because it has AHA, BHA, and PHA, and it did make my skin feel smoother.
But I don’t always want that kind of toner every day. If I’m layering toner a few times or using it like a toner pack, an acid toner can feel a little more demanding. The Dokdo Toner felt like a better choice for the days when I want hydration first, with just a very gentle smoothing effect.
Mineral Water Toner Feel
The toner uses deep sea water from the area near Ulleungdo as its base, which is the mineral-water concept Round Lab is known for.
On skin, it feels exactly like a basic hydrating toner in the best way. When I use it with a cotton pad after washing my face, my skin doesn’t feel dry or tight afterward. It gives a light water layer, then disappears quickly enough that I can move on with the rest of my routine.
The exfoliation angle here is also much softer than an AHA/BHA toner. Instead of relying on strong acid exfoliation, the formula uses protease for gentle texture care, plus ingredients like panthenol and betaine for moisture and comfort.
That’s probably why it feels easier to use daily. It doesn’t have that sharp, active-skincare feeling. It feels more like a calm first step that quietly helps my skin look a little smoother over time.
The product information also mentions test results for immediate dead skin and sebum improvement. I don’t treat numbers like that as a guarantee that my skin will transform overnight, but they do match how this toner feels to me.

Texture and Scent
The texture is completely clear and watery. There’s almost no viscosity when I pour it onto my hand, and it absorbs fast once it touches the skin.
The scent is barely there. I would call it close to fragrance-free in actual use, which makes it easy to reach for morning and night. If scented skincare bothers you, this one feels easy to use because the smell doesn’t get in the way.
How I Use It
I use it three ways: as a wipe toner, as a pat-in toner, and as a quick toner pack. In Korea, the wipe-toner step is often called 닦토, and this is the kind of watery toner that makes sense for it.
After cleansing, I like using it with a cotton pad when my skin feels a little rough around the nose and cheeks. It makes my skin feel clean without that squeaky finish.
On drier days, I soak cotton pads and leave them on for a short time before moisturizer. Because the formula is light and mild, it doesn’t feel like too much even when I use more product than usual.
Finish on Skin
After letting it absorb on the back of my hand, there was almost no stickiness or leftover film. Even when I layered it a few times, it didn’t pill or feel heavy.
The finish is simple: light hydration, clean skin, and almost no residue. If you want a toner that feels strongly active, this probably isn’t the one. But if you want a gentle hydrating toner that you can use without thinking too much, I understand why the Dokdo Toner has stayed popular for so long.
