What the Plus Formula Is Meant to Do
I bought the renewed Plus version. It’s a brightening gel cream aimed at the look of post-breakout marks and uneven tone, with moisture and soothing care in the same formula. That combination made sense to me: my skin can get oily while still feeling short on hydration.
Muan red onion extract is the headline ingredient behind the Onion Newpair name. Red onions can contain more quercetin than white onions, and quercetin is an antioxidant. Isntree uses the extract in a formula intended for soothing care and the appearance of lingering marks.
The Plus formula also contains 3% niacinamide, a vitamin C derivative, and glutathione. These are the ingredients aimed at uneven-looking tone and dullness. I like having them in a moisturizer I already enjoy using; I haven’t been tracking changes in my marks long enough to judge that side of it yet.
Tube and Texture
The tube is compact enough to fit in a pouch, and the narrow opening makes it easy to squeeze out a small amount. I start with a little and add more if I need it, so the cream is easy to portion without making a mess.
When I squeeze some onto the back of my hand, the cream has a pale purple tint and a soft gel texture. It holds its shape instead of running like a liquid, but it feels much lighter than a rich cream. That’s exactly the kind of texture I prefer when my skin is already prone to oiliness.
It spreads smoothly as soon as I start rubbing it in. The gel feels hydrating and absorbs quickly enough that I don’t have to keep patting my skin to make it settle. It gives me moisture without that thick-cream feeling, which makes it easy to use in the morning.

I’d recommend it to someone with oily or combination skin who finds rich creams uncomfortable during the day. The brightening ingredients are a nice extra for me; the everyday feel is why I’d buy it again.
