UNOVE is a hair-care brand I always notice at Olive Young. The packaging is easy to spot, the displays are usually full, and the hair mask already had a good reputation before I finally tried it myself.
I had been using the UNOVE hair mask recently and liked it enough that I ended up buying the shampoo too. This is the UNOVE Deep Damage Repair Shampoo duo I picked up with my own money: two 500ml shampoos and a small 40ml repair hair mask in the set.

The Olive Young Set and Price

I bought the set at Olive Young for ₩26,800. It included two full-size 500ml shampoo bottles plus a 40ml Deep Damage Repair Hair Mask, so the price felt pretty good for the amount you get.
The shelf tag was from an Olive Young Big Sale period, so I would treat ₩26,800 as a sale price, not the regular everyday price. If you’re visiting Korea and planning to buy it in person, that is the kind of price range I would watch for. Outside Korea, the same shampoo is also available on Amazon; from the Amazon listing I saved, one bottle was around $23, but the current price can move around.
What Kind of Shampoo It Is

UNOVE describes this as a protein ampoule shampoo for damaged hair. The product is positioned around a clear protein-ampoule formula that helps with hair softness and nourishment, and the brand also mentions scalp sebum cleansing.
The formula is described as full of protein and nourishing ingredients, and it is also listed as low-irritation tested. I still wouldn’t expect a shampoo alone to repair damaged hair in a dramatic way, but the direction made sense to me: a damage-care shampoo that is not only about softness, but also about keeping the scalp feeling clean.
Why I Wanted to Try It

My scalp isn’t especially sensitive, but it does get oily easily. Because of that, I usually care about cleansing power first. A shampoo can make my hair feel soft, but if my scalp feels heavy by the next afternoon, I probably won’t keep using it.
I already knew I liked the UNOVE scent from the hair mask, so that part was an easy yes. The scalp-cleansing claim was what made me more comfortable buying the shampoo too, because I didn’t want something that would feel rich but heavy at the roots.
Two Scents in the Set

The duo comes with two different scents, which I liked. You can’t really test shampoo fragrance properly in Olive Young, but I already had a good impression of UNOVE scents from the hair mask, so I wasn’t too worried about buying the set.
Sweet Breeze is the lighter one to me, with fresh citrus, a bit of herb, and a soft floral-musk finish. Rosy Aura feels deeper, with more rose and berry-floral warmth. I liked both, but Sweet Breeze is the one I would reach for more in hot weather.
How Long the Scent Lasts

I rinse shampoo very thoroughly, so I don’t usually expect the scent to stay around for long. With this one, it lasted more than I expected, especially when I used it with the UNOVE hair mask afterward.
It isn’t the kind of scent that feels loud after drying. I notice it more when my hair moves or when there’s a bit of wind. That soft shampoo scent staying in the hair is probably one of the main reasons I understand why people like UNOVE hair care so much.
Foam, Cooling Feel, and Cleansing

The foam is soft and rich, and it lathers well even with a small amount. I also felt a slight cooling sensation on my scalp while washing. Nothing intense, just enough to make it feel refreshing.
For oil control, I would keep the expectation realistic. Compared with the Head & Shoulders shampoo I was using before, this didn’t make my hair stay less oily or feel more deeply cleansed. But it also didn’t make my scalp get oily faster, which was the important part for me.
So I would describe the cleansing power as similar enough for daily use, just not stronger than an oil-control shampoo. If you want a good-smelling Korean shampoo for damaged hair and still want your scalp to feel fresh after washing, this one makes sense.
