I finally bought the Daiso VT PDRN Glow Toner after seeing it talked about so much in Korea. When it first came out, it was one of those Daiso items that people kept hunting for, and every time I checked, it was either gone or the shelf looked freshly emptied.
Now the stock seems much easier to find, so I picked it up with the fine mist spray bottle that people use with it. The idea is simple: a 5,000 won toner, a 1,000 won spray bottle, and suddenly you have a very affordable K-beauty mist toner setup.
For my oily-dehydrated skin, I was curious whether it would feel like a real hydrating toner or just a cute Daiso trend. Here’s how it actually felt.
Buying It at Daiso
At the Daiso store I visited, the tester already had the spray head attached, so it was clear that other people were using it the same way. The toner is 200ml for ₩5,000, so the price is honestly hard to ignore.
Skincare gets expensive fast, even when you’re only buying basic toner, so this felt like an easy product to try without overthinking it. It also helps that 200ml is a generous size if you like using toner freely.
The main point of this combination is using the toner like a mist. The fine mist spray bottle was also hard to find for a while, but this time there were plenty on the shelf.
There are a few different spray bottles at Daiso, so I would specifically choose the 120ml fine mist spray bottle. It gives a softer spray than a basic pump bottle, which matters if you’re planning to use this on your face.
What Kind of Toner It Is
As the name suggests, this is more of a hydrating glow toner than a crisp, wipe-off toner. It has moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, so it feels better suited for adding light hydration than for a very fresh toner-pad kind of finish.
I wouldn’t reach for this when I want strong exfoliation or oil-control skincare. I would use it when my skin feels a little dry under makeup, or when I want a soft layer of moisture before moisturizer.
The formula includes plant-derived PDRN from ginseng, and it also has niacinamide, which is commonly used in Korean brightening products. I don’t expect a 5,000 won toner to completely change my skin tone, but the ingredient list is more interesting than I expected at this price.
So the toner feels less like a plain water toner and more like something made for quick hydration and a soft glow. For a Daiso product, the concept feels surprisingly well put together.
Texture and Finish
I dropped about two drops onto the back of my hand, and the texture wasn’t completely watery. It has a slight viscosity, just enough that it doesn’t run everywhere immediately.
The scent is soft and noticeable, but it didn’t feel sharp or irritating to me. If you’re very sensitive to fragrance, you may still want to test it first, but the scent wasn’t strong enough to bother me in normal use.
After it absorbed, the finish felt more moisturizing than sticky. It left a thin hydrated layer, but not the kind of oily shine that makes skin look greasy.
That was the part I liked most. It made my skin look lightly fresh and moisturized, so I could see myself layering it a couple of times without feeling like I had too much product on.
Turning It Into a Mist
Switching the bottle wasn’t difficult. I had seen a few reviews saying the original stopper was hard to remove, but I was able to pull it out by hand.
I used my fingernail to lift the original toner opening and pulled with a bit of force. Just be careful not to tilt the bottle too much while doing it, because the toner can spill once the stopper comes out.
Once I attached the spray head, it fit neatly. It didn’t feel loose, and I didn’t notice leaking around the top.
It honestly looked like it was meant to be used this way from the beginning. For a 1,000 won add-on, the fit was better than I expected.
Because this is a moisturizing toner, dry skin could probably use it as a regular toner right after cleansing. For my oily-dehydrated skin (수부지), I think it makes more sense as a mist than as something I pour on heavily.
I can see myself using it before makeup, when my base feels like it might cling to dry patches, or during the day when my skin feels a little tight. It gives hydration without making my face feel coated.
Mist Test
I tested the spray right away, and the mist was better than I expected for a 1,000 won bottle. The particles came out fine and fairly even, instead of spraying in one heavy spot.
That part matters more than it sounds. If a mist bottle spits too much product at once, I don’t want to use it over skincare or before makeup. This one spreads widely enough across the face, so it works well for the purpose.
Because the spray is thin, it also absorbs easily. After misting, I just pat it in lightly, and it leaves a clean hydrated finish without obvious stickiness.
I especially like it before base makeup or on a puff when I want a little more moisture. It’s not a dramatic skincare treatment, but as a low-cost daily mist toner, it does the job better than I expected.
Overall, the Daiso VT PDRN Glow Toner is a nice find if you want an affordable hydrating toner that can double as a mist. The toner is ₩5,000, the spray bottle is ₩1,000, and the full setup still costs less than many mini-sized skincare products. I wouldn’t buy it expecting major skin changes, but for light hydration, a soft glow, and easy makeup prep, I’ve been using it happily.
