My skin is the annoying type that can look oily on the surface but still feel dehydrated underneath. With cushions, that usually means I have to be careful. Some look pretty for the first hour, then start to look shiny and patchy before the day has even really started.
So for this one, I wanted a cushion that felt thin, looked natural, and didn’t break down too messily when oil started coming through. That’s why I picked up the NAMING Layered Fit Cushion in 21Y.
Buying It at Olive Young

I saw the Olive Young set with the 12g cushion and a 12g refill for ₩29,700. Since cushions can run out faster than I expect when I use them regularly, the refill set felt more worth it than buying the compact alone.
The price can change during Olive Young sale periods or with online coupons, so I would still check before buying. For a cushion with a refill included, it felt reasonable enough to try.
What Kind of Cushion It Is

NAMING Layered Fit Cushion isn’t the kind of base product I would choose for full coverage. The finish is closer to a natural-cover cushion in real life too.
It’s more about evening out the skin tone and making the skin texture look cleaner without a thick makeup layer. If you like a cushion that makes your skin look naturally better rather than obviously covered, this is closer to what I expected.

For oily-dehydrated or combination skin, that thin fit is the main reason it worked better than I expected. When a cushion goes on too thick, it can look smooth at first but separate around the nose or cheeks later.
This one feels lighter, so even when my skin gets a little shiny, the breakdown looks softer. It doesn’t stay perfectly matte, but it also doesn’t turn into that heavy, cakey layer that makes touch-ups stressful.
Refill, Case, and Puff

The Olive Young set came with the cushion compact and one refill. I like refill sets for cushions because they make the price feel more practical, especially if it’s a product I might actually use every day.
The refill is also easy to store, so it doesn’t feel like one of those bonus items that just sits around. For base makeup, this is the kind of set format I usually prefer.

The case is a clean silver compact with a very simple logo. It looks sleek, but the mirror-like surface does show fingerprints pretty easily.
That part is a little annoying, but I still like the simple look. I prefer it over a bulky compact with too much decoration.

The puff isn’t too thin, so it sits comfortably between my fingers. The surface feels soft enough for tapping the product onto the skin without leaving obvious puff marks.
I also liked that it helped spread the cushion thinly. With this kind of natural-cover formula, using too much product in one spot can make the finish look uneven, so the puff made a difference.

When I pressed the puff into the cushion, it didn’t pick up an excessive amount at once. That made it easier to control the layer, especially around areas where I usually want less product.
I prefer building a cushion slowly rather than stamping on a thick layer from the beginning, so this part worked well for me.
Shade 21Y and Hand Swatch

The shade I bought is 21Y. On my hand, it looked like a bright beige with more yellow than pink, which is why I chose it.
If you usually reach for yellow-based Korean base shades, 21Y is probably the one I would test first. It’s still a bright shade, so I wouldn’t choose it blindly if you normally wear a deeper base.

Once blended out, the finish looked thin and smooth rather than heavily covered. It softened the look of my skin texture, but it didn’t erase everything.
The glow is also pretty restrained. It has a natural sheen, but not the wet, glassy kind of glow that can make combination skin look greasy by lunchtime.
Coverage Test

To check the coverage, I drew a lip color and brow pencil on the back of my hand before applying the cushion over them. This is a stronger test than normal redness or light blemishes, but it shows the coverage level pretty clearly.

After one layer, the strong color was toned down, but not fully covered. That’s pretty much what I expected from a natural-cover cushion.
For redness, light marks, and general uneven tone, it gives enough correction for daily makeup. For darker spots or more visible blemishes, I would still use concealer instead of trying to build this cushion too much.
Overall, NAMING Layered Fit Cushion makes the most sense if you want thin, natural-looking coverage with a cleaner skin finish. It isn’t the cushion I would choose for a full-cover base, but for combination or oily-dehydrated skin that doesn’t like heavy makeup, the way it wore down felt easy to live with.
