Brows are one of those makeup steps I do almost every day, but somehow they still feel easy to mess up. If the color goes on too strong, my whole face looks sharper than I wanted. If I leave too many gaps, the rest of my makeup looks unfinished.
So I usually look for brow pencils that don’t deposit too much color at once. I want something I can build slowly, especially on rushed mornings when my hand is not as steady as I wish it were.

Olive Young 1+1 Set
I bought this at Olive Young for ₩10,900 as a 1+1 set, and it also came with a mini brow fixer. For a brow product, that felt like a really good deal because one pencil already lasts me quite a while.
The set was also practical, not just cute. A brow pencil is something I use constantly, and the mini fixer is the kind of extra I actually would keep in my pouch instead of forgetting about it in a drawer.
Natural Brown Shade
I picked Natural Brown. Wakemake has seven brow shades in Korea, so it wasn’t hard to find something close to my hair color without going too warm or too dark.
Natural Brown has a soft brown tone that works well when I want my dark hair to look a little lighter and less harsh around the brows. It doesn’t pull too red, and it doesn’t make my brows look gray either.

Soft Color That Builds Slowly
The main reason I liked this pencil is the color payoff. It feels more like a soft powder pencil than a creamy one, so the color grips lightly instead of going on too dark from the first stroke.
Even when I went over sparse areas a few times, the color built up gradually instead of suddenly turning blocky. That makes it much easier to use on days when I don’t want to spend too long fixing both brows to match.
It also didn’t turn messy as quickly once my skin got a little oily. Brow pencils can sometimes start looking smudged around the tail by the afternoon, but this one faded more naturally on me.
Pencil, Fixer, and Daily Use
The pencil itself is slim and long, and the fixer in the set is a mini size. I liked the combination more than I expected because brows can look fine in the morning and then slowly lose shape as the day goes on.
Having the pencil and fixer together makes the set feel more useful for daily makeup, especially if you like a clean brow shape but don’t want a stiff, laminated look.
The pencil tip has an easy curve shape, so I could use the wider side and thinner side separately. I used the wider side to lightly fill the front and middle of my brows, then turned the pencil upright for the tail.
If you struggle with pressure control, this kind of shape helps. You don’t have to draw every part with the same sharp edge, and it’s easier to keep the front of the brows soft.
The other end has a spoolie brush, which is honestly necessary for this type of pencil. I brush the brow hairs first, fill the gaps, then use the spoolie again to soften the edges.
That last step makes a big difference. It keeps the brow from looking like a drawn-on line, especially with a shade like Natural Brown that is meant to look soft.
The mini brow fixer is also a spoolie type, so it’s simple to use after drawing. I just brush it lightly in the direction of my brow hairs.
It doesn’t make the brows feel stiff, but it does help the shape look cleaner than pencil alone. I wouldn’t call it a strong fixer, though. If you want your brows to stay glued in place, this may feel a little too natural.
Swatch and Smudge Test
On the back of my hand, even when I pressed down firmly, the color didn’t come out too strong. That was exactly what I wanted from this pencil.
Because the pigment builds slowly, I didn’t have to be overly careful with pressure. Natural Brown also looked like a soft everyday brown rather than a yellow-toned brown that stands out too much.
I rubbed the swatch pretty firmly with my fingers, and instead of smearing everywhere, it faded evenly. That’s the kind of fading I prefer with brow products. I don’t need my brows to look freshly drawn all day, but I really don’t want them to melt into patchy marks.
In hot weather, with sweat and oil, it stayed neater than I expected. Again, it’s not a completely fixed brow product on its own, but for a natural daily pencil, I was happy with the wear.
